An American named Walter Burley Griffin (1876-1937) Was responsible for designing the Australian capital city of Canberra. Griffin created many distinctive designs and structures during his time in Australia, many of which set a precedent for style “ahead of its time.” The design featured on the musettes is a pattern created from a window lattice for the Capitol Theater in Melbourne. Griffin is regarded as being a cornerstone of Australia’s architectural history. With an eye for good design and forward thinking concepts, we’d like to think he would have enjoyed riding a Speedvagen.
